Shoelaces (4/29/07)

For the first time in years I was forced to buy shoelaces, not just for one pair of shoes, but three. Rollerblades, boots, and dress shoes. This raised the all important question...

Where the hell do you buy a good pair of shoelaces at????

Before I get to the where and why of things I guess there is a story I must tell. You see, rollerblading has been a key component of this California Boy's past, and offered me one of the rare opportunities in my life to wind up incarcerated.

Most people dream about having the opportunity to drive across the Golden Gate Bridge. A few are lucky enough to get the chance to walk across it. I am but one of a few who have been graced with the opportunty to Rollerblade Across...

Of course, you should all know that Rollerblading across the Golden Gate is illegal...but my friends and I were too innocent to understand this...the signs after all said no ROLLER SKATES. In Line and Rollerskating are not the same. No they are not. If you believe this then...well...we have different oppinions on the matter!

But Cal-Trans doesn't understand this...and half way across the Gate we got busted. "We''ll call the Highway Patrol" the loudspeaker rang out that day. And since we didn't want Ponch and John to pay us a visit, we untied and walked the rest of the way back to our car. As if we would trip and plummet 500 feet to our doom....

So now I need new laces for my blades and they don't exist...Nowhere.

But I found them.

And as for Ponch and John? They will have to get me on another day. This bird runs (and rollerblades) free!
